• Reports and qualifying work and conferences with counsel will be based on an hourly rate – Please enquire with our admin team regarding the experts fee. The number of hours spent per case varies according to complexity but on average is between 8-12 hours. This includes preparation, a thorough review of all records, clinical interviews of both patient and collateral sources of information. Reports take 6- 8 weeks to complete depending on the volume of records that need to be reviewed. Wherever possible, if you can outline the Court timetable for your case that is extremely helpful in prioritising requests. If any specific deadlines need to be met, please let us know when arranging the client assessment. Our fees are exclusive of VAT.
• Attendance at court as a professional/expert witness will be on the basis of £2000+VAT per half day or £4000+VAT per full day for all consultants.
• Administration and traveling time will be charged at an hourly rate of £260+VAT in addition to travel and subsistence costs.
• If an assessment appointment is cancelled or rescheduled at less than 1 weeks’ notice a cancellation fee of £750+VAT will be charged. If a court appearance is cancelled or rescheduled at less than 2 weeks’ notice, I will levy a cancellation charge of 50% of the attendance fee.
• If the client does not attend the appointment without giving prior notice, the full appointment fee will be due by the fee payer.
Please note that these fees will not be subject to assessment or taxation by the court and that all accounts are to be settled within 28 days of the receipt of my invoice.
Until your detailed instruction and acceptance of our terms and conditions have been received in writing, we will not be able to see your client for the purpose of compiling the report.
Please send all documentation electronically to office@brainmindml.co.uk at least 4 weeks before the appointment is scheduled to take place. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please let us know when confirming an appointment date and time.
